Incandescent Induction Ceremony at SNMV CAS!
Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science conducted the Induction Ceremony, Swajith 2025, to welcome the first-year UG students on 2nd July 2025. Dr. B. Subramani, Principal, SNMV CAS, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the facilities and achievements of the college, such as producing high university ranks under Bharathiar University, being ranked among the top 10 colleges in Tamil Nadu, and providing platforms like NSS, NCC, IAS Academy, hostel facilities, and various club activities. A notable achievement of the college is the provision of 36 free seat allotments to students who have lost their parents.
Shri Mahaveer Bothra, President, CWA & SNMV, presided over the function and encouraged the young students to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their journey towards success.
Shri Sunilkumar Nahata, Secretary, SNMV, felicitated the gathering and emphasized that the college would provide excellent opportunities tailored to each student’s interests and passions, thereby empowering them. The Chief Guest, Rtn. Dr. K.A. Kuriachan, District Governor (2001–2002), Rotary International District 3200, and International Corporate Trainer, stressed the importance of education, individual responsibility, and their impact on the nation’s growth. He inspired the students with the quote: “Love yourself, build yourself, start fresh, and see the bright opportunity in each new day.”
Shri Gopal Bhuradia, Secretary – CWA, SNV & SNV Global School, and Shri S.R. Bafana, Joint Secretary – CWA, SNV & SNV Global School, felicitated the gathering. Shri Bharathkumar Jagamani, Joint Secretary, SNMV CAS, and Shri Sheethal Mehta, GC Member, also graced the occasion.
A special learning session was conducted by Mr. M. Prem Chand Jamad, General Manager, Veranda Learning Solutions Ltd. Following this, the students took a pledge led by Dr. S. Jothiramalingam, Admission Team, SNMV. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. K. Muthukumar, Director, SNMV IM. Around 2,500 students and their parents participated in the programme.
Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science celebrated the 76th Republic Day on 26th January 2025. The National Flag was hoisted by the distinguished Chief Guest, Mr. K. Gowri Shankar, an alumnus of SNMV CAS, Mentor, and Founder & CEO of AGS Management Consultancy, Coimbatore. This was followed by a spectacular parade by the NCC cadets.

The Chief Guest, Mr. K. Gowri Shankar, delivered an inspiring speech on the theme “India’s Growth and Hard Work”. He emphasized the importance of education as the key to showcasing innovation, skills, and talents across all fields. He also highlighted that although India attained independence, the nation initially lacked its own constitution. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the Constitution was adopted on 26th January 1950, and since then, the day has been celebrated as Republic Day. He urged students to uphold the values of the Constitution for the progress and betterment of the nation.
Shri Nishant Jain, Secretary – SNV/CWA, graced the occasion with his presence. The winners of various competitions, including departmental rangoli, oratorical, essay writing, music, and group dance, were honored with prizes and certificates by the dignitaries. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. K. Muthukumar, Director – SNMV IM.
Patriotic Fervour at its Best
To mark the 79th Independence Day of India, Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science celebrated the occasion on 15th August 2025 with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The National Flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest, Captain K.K. Mathews (Retd), along with other dignitaries. This was followed by a spectacular parade by the NCC Cadets of SNMV and a special pledge administered by the NSS Unit of SNMV.
On this proud occasion, Dr. B. Subramani, Principal of the College, welcomed the gathering and paid tribute to the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Shri Mahaveer Bothra, President – CWA, SNMV, presided over the event and highlighted the importance of independence, India’s culture, and its people. Shri Sunilkumar Nahata, Secretary – CWA, SNMV, spoke about the value of nationhood and the selfless dedication of those who serve the country. Shri Bharathkumar Jagamani, Joint Secretary, SNMV CAS, felicitated the gathering and emphasized that every Indian must remember and honor our dedicated warriors as it is our foremost duty.
The Chief Guest, Captain K.K. Mathews (Retd), lauded the spirit of independent India. He shared an inspiring note on the dedication and sacrifices of the freedom fighters with deep gratitude, and urged everyone to carry forward the spirit of patriotism in every walk of life. The event was graced by the presence of Shri Sheethal Mehta, GC Member – CWA, and Shri Abhay Jain, GC Member – CWA.
A vibrant Cultural Programme by the students rekindled the spirit of freedom among the audience. The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. K. Muthukumar, Director – SNMV IM. The Management, Staff, and Students participated in the occasion with joy and pride, making it a memorable celebration of freedom.
To commemorate the 153rd Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, India’s third national festival, Gandhi Jayanti, was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore.
The Principal, Dr. B. Subramani, welcomed the gathering and motivated the students to remember Bapu and his teachings. He emphasized that Gandhiji led India to independence by upholding the principles of Non-violence and Truth, and stressed that these values are essential for the present generation to lead a peaceful and meaningful life.
With the intention of preserving the nation’s rich artistic and musical traditions, students of Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science rendered soulful bhajans. Both staff and students actively participated in the celebration, making it a memorable and inspiring occasion.
Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science organized its Mega Intercollegiate Meet, Regalia-2025 on 17th February 2025. Around 1,140 students from 105 colleges across Tamil Nadu enthusiastically participated and showcased their talents in various events such as Reels, Nail Art, Short Film, Face Painting, Wealth out of Waste, Groom/Bride Makeover, Solo Dance, Dual Dance, Adapt Tune, Group Dance, Solo Singing, and Fashion Pageant.
As part of the celebrations, the SNMV Educational Excellence Award was conferred upon Head Masters of government schools in and around Coimbatore in recognition of their incredible service in the field of education.
Dr. B. Subramani, Principal, SNMV CAS, welcomed the gathering and inspired the students with his words: “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day-in and day-out.” The event was presided over by Shri Mahaveer Bothra, President, CWA & SNMV, who highlighted that the untapped potential of students will always pave the way for a successful life.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Diwakar, Indian Playback Singer, captivated the audience with his energetic performance and mesmerized the gathering with his powerful voice. Shri Sunilkumar Nahata, Secretary, SNMV, felicitated the gathering and motivated the students to excel in academics, quoting: “Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you.” He emphasized that Regalia provides an excellent platform for students to exhibit their talents and shine.
The special invitees, Shri Bharathkumar Jaghamani, Joint Secretary, SNMV, Shri Ashok Lunia, Treasurer, CWA, along with Governing Council Members Shri Sheethal Mehta and Shri Abhay Jain, graced the occasion with their presence. The celebration concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. K. Muthukumar, Director, SNMV Institute of Management. The overall championship trophy and cash prize were bagged by JSS Institute of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Coimbatore.
Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science celebrated its grand College Day, Quake Arena 2025 on 18th February 2025 at the Multi-Purpose Auditorium. Shri Mahaveer Bothra, President – CWA & SNMV, presided over the function and encouraged the students to explore new opportunities in life. He remarked, “Celebration of students brings happiness and satisfaction.”
Shri Sunilkumar Nahata, Secretary – SNMV, felicitated the gathering and inspired the students with his words: “Talent does you no good unless it’s recognized by someone else. You should know your worth and showcase your talents in the right place to become a successful person.” Shri Bharathkumar Jaghamani, Joint Secretary – SNMV CAS, and Shri Rathanchand Bothra, Governing Council Member – CWA, also graced the occasion with their presence.
The Chief Guest of the day, Ms. J. Srinisha, Indian Playback Singer, enthralled the audience with her melodious voice and stunning performances, making the celebration even more memorable. The College Annual Report 2024–2025 was then presented by Dr. B. Subramani, Principal, SNMV CAS. The dignitaries also released the college magazine, Lahar-2025.
The event was warmly welcomed by Dr. K. Muthukumar, Director, SNMV Institute of Management, and concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. Kavitha, Assistant Professor of Microbiology. Around 3,500 students enthusiastically participated and showcased their talents in a wide range of events including Reels, Short Film, Wealth from Waste, Groom/Bride Makeover, Solo Dance, Adapt Tune, Group Dance, Dual Dance, Solo Singing, and Cooking Without Fire. The joyous celebration came to an end with the distribution of prizes to the winners of various competitions.
Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science celebrated its 32nd Graduation Day with a grand ceremony on 19th February 2025. The Chief Guest, Rtn. Dr. K. A. Kuriachan, Past Rotary Governor & International Motivational Confidence-Building Coach, delivered an inspiring address to the fresh graduates, congratulating them on achieving this significant milestone in their academic journey.
He commended the graduates for their accomplishments and appreciated the Management and Principal for fostering a holistic educational environment that emphasizes humanitarian values through initiatives such as NSS, NCC, and various student clubs. He reiterated the importance of commitment, perseverance, and ethical values over material pursuits, and stressed that character development outweighs financial success. Encouraging students to consider careers in the armed forces, he motivated them to “think smart and dream big.” He also urged the graduates to become givers, reminding them that “giving brings permanent happiness in life.”

Shri Sunilkumar Nahata, Secretary, SNMV, Shri Bharathkumar Jaghamani, Joint Secretary, SNMV, Shri Nishanth M. Jain, Joint Treasurer, and Shri Sheethal Mehta, Governing Council Member, graced the occasion with their esteemed presence.
The academic procession was led by Dr. B. Subramani, Principal, SNMV CAS, followed by the Heads of Departments. The Principal presented the Annual Report, highlighting the achievements and distinctive features of the institution. All dignitaries expressed their warm appreciation and best wishes to the graduating class. From a graduating batch of nearly 1,000 students, 44 rank holders, including 7 gold medalists, were specially honored for their outstanding academic performance. The ceremony concluded on a proud and celebratory note.
Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science celebrated its Annual Sports Day with great enthusiasm and inspiring zeal on 22nd March 2025. The Chief Guest, Dr. S. T. N. Rajeshwaran, Director of Physical Education (i/c), Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, hoisted the National Flag and lit the Olympic torch, marking the beginning of the celebration. Shri Bharathkumar Jagamani, Joint Secretary, SNMV CAS, formally declared the Sports Meet open. The inaugural session was followed by an oath-taking ceremony and a spectacular march past by the students of SNMV.
Delivering the Presidential Address, Shri Bharathkumar Jagamani appreciated the students’ efforts and highlighted that the athletes of SNMV have the potential to represent the institution at the national level. Dr. B. Subramani, Principal, SNMV CAS, felicitated the event with an inspiring message: “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.”
The Chief Guest, in his special address, emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and urged the youth to embrace resilience in the face of challenges and setbacks, as it is the true path to success. Dr. R. Bhakyaraj, Head, Department of Microbiology, delivered the welcome address, while Mr. G. Sadeesh Kumar, Physical Director, SNMV CAS, presented the Annual Sports Report 2024–2025, highlighting the achievements of the Physical Education Department. Winners of various competitions, including Table Tennis, Running Race, Carrom, and Chess, were honored with prizes and certificates by the dignitaries. The Overall Rolling Trophy was bagged by the Blue House. The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. K. Muthukumar, Director, SNMV Institute of Management. The day turned out to be a grand success with the spirited participation of the students.
Indelible Traditional Moments at SNMV Campus!
Samacheer Pongal was celebrated with great fervor at Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science on 11th January 2025. The festivities commenced at 9:00 a.m. in the Multipurpose Auditorium with a captivating display of vibrant rangoli. The celebration was organized with the objective of preserving the rich cultural traditions of India and instilling a spirit of unity and togetherness among the students.
The highlight of the event was the Vallikummi, where the girls performed a graceful dance to the traditional Kummiadi song. The spirit of the festival was further enhanced by the symbolic stacking of sugarcane and the preparation of Pongal in beautifully decorated earthen pots. The rhythmic chanting of “Pongalo! Pongal!” echoed through the venue, invigorating the celebratory atmosphere.
The festive mood continued with a variety of cultural programmes such as Dance, Rekla, Kummiyattam, Silambattam, Uriyadithal, Kabaddi, Parai Isai, and Kayiru Iluthal, which stood out as the highlights of the day. Students also showcased props and replicas of rural life, symbolizing the traditional essence of the Pongal festival through their creatively designed huts.

Muthukumar, Director, MBA; and Dr. V. Padmanaban, Dean of Commerce, who honored the event with their august presence.
Around 3,500 members, including staff and students, enthusiastically participated in the celebration. Winners of the various competitions were awarded prizes. The vibrant celebration concluded with fond memories and the serving of traditional sweet Pongal to all.
Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science’s Women Empowerment Cell proudly celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 on 8th March 2025 under the theme “Accelerate Action for Gender Equity.” The celebration began with the welcome address delivered by Dr. P. Jayapradha, Head, Department of B.Com IT. The Presidential Address was rendered by Dr. B. Subramani, Principal of the College, who quoted, “If there is a woman, then there is magic around us,” emphasizing the vital role of women and their pursuit of perfection in every sphere of life.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Radha Bellan, All Business Women’s Association, spoke on the theme “Women Entrepreneurship and Successful Career Set-up.” She highlighted the importance of self-realization for women to survive, excel, and achieve success in all endeavors. Ms. Uma Mageswari, Awareness Coordinator – Acham Thavir, Let’s Thank Foundation, Coimbatore, further inspired the audience with her address on the significance of women’s safety, moral values, and education, and how they play a crucial role in shaping lives.
The programme was successfully convened by Dr. M. Premalatha, Head, Department of MSW. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. K. Deepa, Head, Department of B.Com CS & Finance. Around 300 girl students and all the female faculty members enthusiastically participated in the event, making the celebration truly memorable.
