The Department of Microbiology came into existence in the year 1993 with undergraduate program. The Postgraduate course was started in 2016 and became the research department by offering M.Phil in the year 2017. The Department consists of highly experienced faculty members who strive to provide quality education upto research levels. With the conduct of research in various specialized areas of the program they train the students in an excellent way. With respect to service, the faculty team has an exemplary record of participation in national and international conferences, membership in professional bodies, editors and reviewers of reputed journals. The research outcomes of the department are well evidenced by several research papers published in peer reviewed journals with good impact factor at national and international level. The Department regularly organizes national level seminars, symposium, workshops and guest lectures and value education programmes. The Department ensure the academic and research Excellency by producing more number of rank holders and the publications.
