The Department of Physics came into existence in the year 1992. At present, the department offers a three-year Bachelor Program in Physics. The department has excellent and well-equipped laboratories. The syllabus has been framed in such a manner that after completion of the course, the students can either do research or get employed in various industrial sectors. The department comprises of highly experienced faculty members who strive to provide quality education at the undergraduate level. With respect to service, the faculty members have an exemplary record of participation in National & International seminars, editing professional journals and reviewing grant proposals from regional and national organizations. The department regularly organizes guest lectures and workshops for college students and school students in and around the rural sectors of the college.

Association activities of the Department of Physics are an integral part of the curriculum, which provides educational activities to the students and thereby helps in broadening their experience. Interdisciplinary activities are designed to enhance and enrich the regular curriculum during the normal college hours. The department conducts guest lectures, workshops, seminars, industrial visits, quiz competitions and science exhibitions.
Bachelor of Science in Physics can pursue higher studies in the related disciplines. Graduates can opt for Master of Science courses and Post Graduate Diploma courses after B.Sc in Physics.

Students with a Bachelor of Science in Physics can pursue higher studies in the related disciplines. Graduates can opt for Master of Science courses and Post Graduate Diploma courses after B.Sc. in Physics. Master of Science (M.Sc.) courses are offered in areas mentioned below.
Certificate course approved by Bharathiar University. It contains two papers. They are Fundamentals of Nano science and Introductory Nano biotechnology and Nano medicine.
Nano medicine is at the forefront of modern healthcare. Nano particles offer a new platform for drug delivery that can extend the “patent life” of drugs, but also greatly increase the targeting and effectiveness of therapy.
