The department runs the prime course of Bachelor of Commerce with Computer Applications since its inception in 2000. The department provides technical skills for computer technology, accounting and business skills. Students opting to undergo a course in B.Com. (C.A.) learn not only the subject of commerce but are also taught to use software technology for their professional requirements. The course bridges the gap between commerce and computer application and helps students to become smart and employable. Training in computer applications in the field of commerce is an extra in terms of placement requirements.
The course was introduced in the year 2000. The course is tailor-made for aspirants of Commerce with Computer Applications and other professional courses in the domain of commerce by drawing rich academic inputs from contemporary syllabus reflecting recent developments.
The department activities intended to enrich the professional acumen of the students is molded by “COMFIESTA”, the association of the department meant for leveraging the professional excellence in commerce, which is sought to be achieved. The association is organizing guest lectures, workshops, field visits, Industrial visits, career counseling programs besides catering to the regular academic requirements.
Comparatively, graduates of commerce with C.A. are given priority in employment in leading corporate firms and other accounting related jobs owing to having better exposure in the undergraduate program with industry specific curriculum.
