The Department of Business Management was established in 1989 and later renamed as Department of Business Administration. The aim of the department is to impart adequate management knowledge and develop managerial, communication, leadership and entrepreneurial skills in students. The program leads the students to pursue their studies of MBA and other business oriented courses. Periodically, the department conducts seminars, workshops, conferences in the college and the students are also encouraged to participate in the co-curricular activities at other colleges. Guest lectures and industrial visits are also organized to enhance the quality and content of the program. In addition, discussion methods and interaction methods are followed to develop debating and leadership skills.
The Department Goal
- To motivate the students to achieve more university ranks.
- To offer practical exposure to students.
- To make use of modern teaching aids and methodology like LCD, E- Learning etc.
- To expose students to real time situations through case study methods, role-play exercises and management games.
- To bring out the hidden potentialities of the students by encouraging them to participate in seminars, conferences, workshops and symposium etc.
- To provide for Institutional Training for a period of 30 days to enable students to acquire industrial exposure.

The students are given Internship training during the final year of their study for a period of 6 weeks which thereby helps them work in an environment where practical knowledge can be gained through interaction with the employees. The department has produced 6 university ranks.
The students’ Association named “SYNERGY” helps in bringing out the hidden caliber of the students. Several activities like Seminars, Guest Lectures by Eminent Industry based professionals, Management Games, Role Play and Industrial Visits are conducted for the overall development of the students.

The courses give them the unique opportunity of becoming professionals in the domain opted pertaining to the courses. As far as opportunities are concerned, B.B.A. graduates can enter any field like banking, industry, service etc. They are equipped to become successful entrepreneurs as well.
The department has adopted Advertising Management as add on course. It helps the students to learn about the modern trends in the advertising world. The course is comprised of two theory papers, viz “Introduction to Advertising” and “Advertising Media and its Practices”. In addition, it comprises of project and practical sessions on advertising.
