The department of Computer Applications came into existence in the year 2001. At present, the department offers a three-year Bachelor Program in Computer Applications. The department has played a leading role in enabling the students to make a professional career in the technical world. The department has excellent and well-equipped laboratories, which are being constantly updated with the latest computers and technology. The department contains dedicated and proficient staff who strive to offer quality education in the field of Computer Applications.
The course aims at providing strong knowledge to the students on the day-to-day applications where computers play an eminent role. The course also helps students develop core competencies in computer applications thereby creating the best professionals for the IT industry. This course also focuses on the various hardware and software application areas. The practical module provides programming skills in a wide range of applications. Apart from computer, it also consists of mathematics, statistics, accounting, probability and finance. At the bachelor level, the course provides an academic base from which an advanced career in Computer Applications can be developed.
In order to channelize and cultivate the talents and organizing abilities among students, various associations have been constituted under the departments. Generally the associations are encouraged to plan activities that are related to the subject of study and benefit the students academically. Students are encouraged to participate in these functions. RADICAL is the association of the Department of Computer Applications through which the following list of programs are conducted – Seminars / Guest Lectures, Workshops, National Level Conferences/ Seminars, Extension activities for the betterment of society, Placement training
